You Have A Problem With Your Floor - What Next ?

Many faults with laminate floors are caused by poor or incorrect installation. Product faults do exist however a conscientious installer will normally be able to detect 90% of product faults at the time of installation. All manufacturers ask for their products to be fully inspected by the installer for faults prior to installation. If at this stage you find a product fault, stop the installation and you MUST inform your local supplier where you purchased the flooring as soon as possible and ask their advice.

It will be up to your local supplier to contact the manufacturer with the problem and not you. Your contract of sale is with the retailer you purchased the flooring from. It will be up to the retailer to forward your claim onto the manufacturer as the retailers contract is with the manufacturers. You the customer do not have a contract of sale with the manufacturer, any settlement or offers normally have to go through your local retailer.

If you believe you have a product fault developing after the installation you should contact your local supplier and inform them that a problem exists. They are duty bound to deal with your claim however they are not always qualified or experienced at inspecting laminates. This is were we come in, we are trained to spot any possible product faults and / or any fitting errors and will produce a report including digital photographs were necessary.

If you believe you have a problem with your laminate due to an installation error you must first take your claim up with the installers of your flooring. If they cannot or will not help you need to prove a wrong doing to your floor so a claim can be pursued. An independent report from a qualified source will always help your claim to proceed.
